Our story began in 2012 whilst visiting a local garden centre in search for an elegant Dovecote. With disappointment, there wasn’t a company that handcrafted bespoke, hand painted Dovecotes with elaborate added touches. It was from there that Dominic and Nigel decided to handcraft one for themselves.

A dovecote is a structure designed to house doves, pigeons, and other small birds dependent on your own preference.

We add a hand dressed lead crown to all of our Dovecotes. A lead crown is a covering of lead that is applied between the roof and the finial of the Dovecote preventing water getting into the roof.
Once applied, we then coat the lead in Patination oil. We do this because when newly fitted Lead is exposed to moisture, it builds up a natural patina in the form of a soluble white lead carbonate. Future exposure to rain will wash the carbonate onto adjacent materials causing unsightly staining or discoloration.
Patination Oil is white spirit based surface treatment that prevents white carbonate from forming on the surface of newly fitted Lead and reduces the risk of staining to adjacent materials.

A dog kennel, doghouse, dog house or dog shed is a house commonly built in the shape of a house traditionally made from wood.
The shelter / structure is intended for a dog to provide a safe place for dogs when they are outdoors.
All of our Dog Kennels are delivered fully assembled and moved into place by our in house carpenters so that they are ready to use.
Please ensure that there is sufficient access for our Carpenters to move into place.
All of our Dog Kennels are hand delivered fully assembled allowing you to use the Dog Kennel straight away.
We hand deliver our Dog Kennels all year round except during January and times of extreme weather conditions.
For Dog Kennels it is not essential but we highly advise that it is placed on a well-drained flat surface such as paving slabs.
This will also prevent the Dog Kennel sitting in water during the wet weather.
The main housing compartment of the Dog Kennel is raised slightly off the ground.

Wood / Timber
We use a wide range a natural timber from softwood to hardwood including, pine, oak, Canadian Western Red Cedar, Mahogany, Beech and much more depending on our client’s requirements.
All of our Timber is sustainable sourced and FSC certified. For more information, Click Here.
We ONLY use natural timber and we don’t use Accoya timber. Accoya timber undergoes an extensive modification from a natural resource to a human-modified resource by modifying the chemicals in the natural wood. The process involves changing the free hydroxyls within the wood into acetyl groups.
This is done by reacting the wood with acetic anhydride, which comes from acetic acid. When the free hydroxyl group is transformed to an acetyl group, the ability of the wood to absorb water is greatly reduced.
Although this may seem advantageous, this un-natural process also limits the use of water-based paint being used on Accoya wood and instead requiring additional oil based products and paints that are unnecessary and not friendly for the environment.
Absolutely! It is part of our core values to ensure that all of our materials are sourced sustainably to ensure that we protect the environment for future generations and wildlife to enjoy.
To ensure all our wood is sustainably sourced, we only purchase Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified timber. More Information
We source our timber for a selected range of local timber merchants who only sell FSC approved timber which is sustainably sourced.
Our carpenter’s hand pick all of our wood ensuring the highest quality timber is used for all of our bespoke garden products.
After we hand pick our timber from the timber merchants we thoroughly treat all of our wood for wood knots.
